Being Silly

Hello everyone, l'm a bit late posting this week as l have been away on holidays.
I had a lovely relaxing time in Waikiki where the weather was amazing. Wish l could have stayed longer!!

Today l am sharing a layout using the latest sketch at Lets Get Sketchy, you can check it out HERE.

This week we had to play along with a mood board as well as a sketch
Here it is -

Here is what l came up with-

My photos were taken in a photo booth with my daughter and we have lots of silly pics.

Once again l began with stenciling and ink. After l sprayed the ink l wiped it over the stenciled design, then l added more ink splatters and stamping.

Here are some close ups

I tucked little embellishments along my punched photo mat. The chipboard was embossed with Stampendous Aged Wine. I went through my stash and added chipboard stickers as well.
If you would like to play along with us upload your layout HERE and be in the running for a great prize!

Celebrate the end of school, Yay!!

What better reason to celebrate than finishing high school. My daughter completed year 12 last year and now moves to the world of casual work and university.

I am playing along with the latest challenge over at More Than Words, Check it out HERE

You have to use the word CELEBRATE and add BLING

l thought what a great way to showcase Alana on her last day of school by playing along.

Here is what l came up with

Metallic paint, glitter glass, micro beads and shiny heart paper were my bling components for the challenge

I started with stenciling and rubons on my background, then added the metallic paint

The lattice chipboard was painted with white gesso, the circle chipboard embossed with Evergreen

I've added layers beneath my photo and a small vintage trinket

I am also playing along with the current sketch challenge over at My Creative Sketches.
Check them out HERE to play along

And here is the sketch to follow

Life is full of Colour

I'm sharing a layout that is full of summer bright colours. I really do like a splash of colour, it makes me happy!
I'm also using this week's sketch at LETS GET SKETCHY, you can check out the design team HERE

Here are some closeups of my background. I began with white gesso over my paper, then added stenciling, once dry l added ink and water and let it run around the stenciled shapes.

Once this had dried l added teal blue metallic paint over the top. I watered down the paint so it had more of a washed out effect, while still maintaining a strong colour focus. Unfortunately it's hard to see the metallic shine

Once l had layered up my photo, l added hand made paper flowers, stickers, chipboard embellishments, embossed chipboard flourishes and threads.

I finished with some stamping and more ink splatters

Here is the sketch to follow and you can upload your layout HERE

Sharing Today

Hi there, today l am sharing a couple of items l made using leftovers from kits l have bought.

The first is a wall art piece and has been created on a wooden square

Some close ups of the steps l took to create the background

I covered the wood with a patterned paper, fussy cut flowers, doily pieces, stamps and then sand paste

I have tried to capture the sand paste below, it gives a great texture

I mixed glitter beads and seed beads together with a gel medium. This dries clear and the beads and glitter add a nice touch
To the chipboard l added gesso, then paint and added gelatos to the leaves and perfect pearls to the birds

The angel is a mix of inks and metallic paint (not finished here)

Close ups of the details

Next is a card l made for my mum's birthday

I have randomly stamped and added bling to a patterned paper
The ribbon was cut into smaller lengths and layered over a chipboard sticker
The wooden butterfly was inked on the edges only

Seed beads and Prills were scattered around the flowers

Small pearls were added

Here they are together

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my projects

Chipboard - Leaky Shed

#Happiness

Hi there, today l am sharing with you a layout l made using the November kit from
My Creative Scrapbook, you can check out their fantastic kits HERE

Here are details on how l created my background

Firstly cut random strips of paper and distress the edges, glue these in the centre of your background paper
I then choose 2 stencils, using paste l randomly placed these over the strips.
Before the texture paste was dry l sprinkled distress embossing powder over the top. Once this has dried you can rub some of it off to create a distressed appearance.
Next l have painted watered down metallic paint over the dried surface and embossed some stamping. Keep your stenciling and stamping close together.
I have tried to capture the shine in this photo.
I chose a chipboard word for my title and embossed using aged green enamel
I cut a circle in half to layer under both sides of my photo. This was embossed with aged wine enamel. If you want thicker sections, apply the powder heavier in places to achieve this effect.

Finally l added a few buttons, some threads, flowers and ink splatters. I also decided to add a brick stamp to match the bricks on my background paper.

This is a layout l created for a DT submission, l hope you enjoy looking at it as much as l enjoyed the creative process.
