Sketchabilities #90

Hi there, the latest sketch over at Sketchabilities is up and it's great one for adding layers

This is what l did

I have used papers, stickers and embellishments from Simple Stories and Little Yellow Bicycle.
Firstly l stamped around the edge of my background paper to give it a border, distressed the edges, punched portions of the edges and then added machine stitching.
I pleated the canvas fringe and on top of that l added a brown and white spot ribbon and then tucked it under my raised photo.
My cluster embellishments are a mix of stckers and dimensional paper pieces.
This was my son's last day of high school and l wrote my journalling on a sticker, matted it and tucked it under the edge of my photo.

Over at Stuck

Thought l would play along with this months sketch over at Stuck

I have become addicted to masks, this time l used a chicken wire effect with texture and once dry added another mask over the top and dabbed on red ink.
I thought some hand stitching would be a nice change on a couple of my background papers.
Got to love those cute owls from Prima that l left in their natural colour.

This is the sketch

Thanks for looking!

Sketchabilities

Reveal time at Sketchabilities for sketch #89 and this is what l created

I love this photo of my daughter. Young and carefree, life is good!

This time l thought l would mix it up a bit -
I mixed paint and paste together to use over a mask and sprayed some ink over the left side of the layout. The little wooden birds and flowers are from Prima and l covered the birds with glitter to add some sparkle and thought the birdcage was an appropriate touch. I framed my photo mat with liquid pearls. The papers and sticker words are from American Crafts. I mounted the stickers on to card so l could raise them for a bit of added dimension. My green leafy branches are a Sizzix die.

Cutie Pie

This is my layout for the current sketch at My Creative Sketches. I have used American Craft papers and embellishments from their March main kit.

I have machine stitched on my first background paper.
Then l have used a border punch and 2 different stencils around the edges of my second  background paper, and when the paste was dry added ink to some of the masking.
My photo mat has been popped up and lace tucked under the edge for extra dimension. On the opposite side l added a lace ribbon strip over a pattern paper.
To the little wooden birds and flower, l firstly covered with gesso and then added different inks and liquid pearls.

Now a tip to save time  -

The branch at the bottom of the photo is a sticker that l didn't want to stick down or fussy cut, so l covered the sticky part with powder, added some dimensional tape and was able to raise it off the page and save time with the fussy cutting.
