It's a hot Spring!

If Spring is this hot, l'm not looking forward to Summer!

Escaping from todays heat, l thought l would play along with the current sketch over at My Creative Sketches. You can see the great prize on offer HERE. I used to always create with their sketches and it's nice to find the time this month to join in.

Here is my layout using papers from Maja Design.

I have distressed the edges of the main two papers and inked the two little strips. I found some chipboard circles that l simply painted and popped it up off the page. The bling embellishments were also in my stash (that l really need to use more)!
I added some chipboard stickers from Teresa Collins and added thread to the chipboard buttons.

Here are a couple of close ups

This was a quick layout before l head off to work this afternoon, so no time for fancy mixed media backgrounds!
This is the sketch to follow
Have a great day:)

Last week of October

I cannot believe how fast this month has flown by. The shops are full of Christmas decorations, it's time to start thinking all things Christmassy!

It's Team B's week at Lets Get Sketchy, check it out HERE

Here is my layout
There is a super cool M & M's shop on the Vegas strip. Four floors of chocolate and goodies. We need one of these in Australia!
Here are some close ups

Firstly l added some stamping, then masked over the top. I cut elements from some pattern papers and mounted them for a bit of pop!
Here is this weeks sketch to play along with

Playing at Stuck

I have just realised that l have done another 'blue' layout. I love these papers by Maja Design from Sweden.
I am playing along with Stuck this week, you can find them HERE.

Here is my layout using an old photo of my son when he was one!

I have made my hexagon background using a mask, paste and paint. I have randomly stamped on the background as well.

Enjoy your day, wherever you may be!

Hello sketch fans.
A new sketch is up over at Lets Get Sketchy this week. It uses multiple photos and here is my layout.

The sketch to use
I chose to pop up the middle photo. I've added some texture with a stencil and paste and hand stitched the circle element. The paper strips under my photo have been inked.
You can see what the design team have done this week HERE

I hope you have time to join us this week :)

If l could have one wish, it would be to have more free time!!
I hardly ever get time to scrap, let alone sit still for a few minutes.
Anyway enough of that complaining.
Here is a layout that l finally stuck together, it has been sitting on my desk for a number of weeks now.

My papers are from Echo Park "Splendid Sunshine" range. I have layered several of them and inked edges in black for some added definition.
I cut the gold chipboard frame in half and used it as a type of frame for my photo. This was from MME
The metal clock charm is from Dovecraft Collections and flowers from Prima.

Thanks for looking:)

Half way through the school holidays, time is going too quickly.
Having five Mondays in September means an extra week to play along over at
Lets Get Sketchy.
This weeks theme is a layout of yourself. I had to hunt high and low to find a picture as l'm the one taking the photos and never in them!

Anyway here it is

Once again l have used a kit that l got through My Creative Scrapbook. This is the current kit and it is filled with lots of goodies from My Mind's Eye. The flowers are an extra that l had in my stash. I have popped my photo and some of the embellishments.
Here are some close ups

There is no sketch to follow this week, its purely free style.
Come on over and check out what the DT has done.

Monday, 22 September 2014

Good afternoon everyone. Today is the start of school holidays for 2 weeks, which means no morning rush, yippee! Last night we had a party for my daughters Sweet 16th birthday so we are all a bit tired today.

I'm up this week over at Lets Get Sketchy. The current sketch is by the lovely Bev Code and uses 3 photos. Here is my take

I have used papers from Maja Design, flowers from Prima, stamps from Technique Tuesday, tags from Maya Road and lettering from Doodlebug.
I slightly curled the top left corner of a PP, all edges are inked.
I have added some hand stitching over the tags and on two sides of the background paper.
Here is the sketch to follow
I hope you can join us this week :)
