Last week of November

Just where does the time go? Even this week has gone far too quickly and l am late with this post!!

A new sketch is up at Lets Get Sketchy  with another cool sketch from the talented Bev. l hope you have some free time to scrap this week and join us.
Here is my layout using photos from a couple of years ago when we visited New York.

I have a few of these large doilies which seem to sit in my stash, so it was good to be able to finally use one.

This is the last week to play along this month and win a great prize.
Here is the sketch to follow

I love using sketches and this week Lets Get Sketchy has a new sketch to play along with. You can see it HERE

This is my take on the sketch. I have only used 1 photo and not the 2 photos as suggested in the sketch. That's the beauty of sketches, you can interpret them how you like!

I have used papers from the Jubilee collection from My Minds Eye and have layered up my embellishments. I have also used Thickers and Echo Park stickers.

Here is the sketch to follow, l hope you can join us this week!

It's a hot Spring!

If Spring is this hot, l'm not looking forward to Summer!

Escaping from todays heat, l thought l would play along with the current sketch over at My Creative Sketches. You can see the great prize on offer HERE. I used to always create with their sketches and it's nice to find the time this month to join in.

Here is my layout using papers from Maja Design.

I have distressed the edges of the main two papers and inked the two little strips. I found some chipboard circles that l simply painted and popped it up off the page. The bling embellishments were also in my stash (that l really need to use more)!
I added some chipboard stickers from Teresa Collins and added thread to the chipboard buttons.

Here are a couple of close ups

This was a quick layout before l head off to work this afternoon, so no time for fancy mixed media backgrounds!
This is the sketch to follow
Have a great day:)

Last week of October

I cannot believe how fast this month has flown by. The shops are full of Christmas decorations, it's time to start thinking all things Christmassy!

It's Team B's week at Lets Get Sketchy, check it out HERE

Here is my layout
There is a super cool M & M's shop on the Vegas strip. Four floors of chocolate and goodies. We need one of these in Australia!
Here are some close ups

Firstly l added some stamping, then masked over the top. I cut elements from some pattern papers and mounted them for a bit of pop!

Playing at Stuck

I have just realised that l have done another 'blue' layout. I love these papers by Maja Design from Sweden.
I am playing along with Stuck this week, you can find them HERE.

Here is my layout using an old photo of my son when he was one!

I have made my hexagon background using a mask, paste and paint. I have randomly stamped on the background as well.
Here are a couple of close ups

Hello sketch fans.
A new sketch is up over at Lets Get Sketchy this week. It uses multiple photos and here is my layout.

The sketch to use
I chose to pop up the middle photo. I've added some texture with a stencil and paste and hand stitched the circle element. The paper strips under my photo have been inked.
You can see what the design team have done this week HERE

I hope you have time to join us this week :)

If l could have one wish, it would be to have more free time!!
I hardly ever get time to scrap, let alone sit still for a few minutes.
Anyway enough of that complaining.
Here is a layout that l finally stuck together, it has been sitting on my desk for a number of weeks now.

My papers are from Echo Park "Splendid Sunshine" range. I have layered several of them and inked edges in black for some added definition.
I cut the gold chipboard frame in half and used it as a type of frame for my photo. This was from MME
The metal clock charm is from Dovecraft Collections and flowers from Prima.

Thanks for looking:)

Half way through the school holidays, time is going too quickly.
Having five Mondays in September means an extra week to play along over at
Lets Get Sketchy.
This weeks theme is a layout of yourself. I had to hunt high and low to find a picture as l'm the one taking the photos and never in them!

Anyway here it is

Once again l have used a kit that l got through My Creative Scrapbook. This is the current kit and it is filled with lots of goodies from My Mind's Eye. The flowers are an extra that l had in my stash. I have popped my photo and some of the embellishments.
Here are some close ups

There is no sketch to follow this week, its purely free style.
Come on over and check out what the DT has done.

Monday, 22 September 2014

Good afternoon everyone. Today is the start of school holidays for 2 weeks, which means no morning rush, yippee! Last night we had a party for my daughters Sweet 16th birthday so we are all a bit tired today.

I'm up this week over at Lets Get Sketchy. The current sketch is by the lovely Bev Code and uses 3 photos. Here is my take

I have used papers from Maja Design, flowers from Prima, stamps from Technique Tuesday, tags from Maya Road and lettering from Doodlebug.
I slightly curled the top left corner of a PP, all edges are inked.
I have added some hand stitching over the tags and on two sides of the background paper.
Here is the sketch to follow
I hope you can join us this week :)

Playing along at Stuck!

I found some free time, or rather l made some time away from work, and played around with the current sketch over at Stuck!

Here is my take

Papers and embellishments are from a kit l bought through Frosted Designs. This is the first time l have bought one of their kits and it was full of goodies.
I have misted the background with Chalkboard glimmer mist and then added my layers. The lettering l had in my stash and l added some liquid pearls to some of the paper strips for a bit of added texture.

Here are some close ups

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day :)

Spring is here! Every day l wake to the smell of Jasmine that is growing along the fence, it really has a beautiful perfume.

This week there is a new sketch up at Lets Get Sketchy by the talented Laura Whitaker.
Here is my take
I have masked the circle shapes and inked once dry. The cute little chipboard owl is from Prima and l inked this as well.

2 Days to Spring

What a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky, not too hot, not too cold.
Spring is almost here, so l thought l would scrap a photo of some flowers. These were in the lobby of a hotel l stayed in, the colours were beautiful.

I started with orange ink splatters on the white background and built the page from there

A mixture of Prima flowers including a vintage trinket that l added a brad to the centre
Layered papers with distressed edges under my photo.

Well l'm going to enjoy the sunshine before l have to work this afternoon. I hope it's a nice day in your part of the world as well!

August is almost over!

Another month has almost gone, spring will soon be upon us!
Today is a new reveal over at Lets Get Sketchy.
I've done a layout to remember Tom's last day of year 12 and  here it is

I've stuck to the sketch for this one, using papers from My Minds Eye.
Actually everything on this page has been sitting in my stash for quite some time!
The dots are tapes from Heidi Swapp and the letters and embellishments are by Pink Paislee.

Here is the sketch to follow, l hope you can play along with us this week.
