Raining again
Rain, rain go away, we have had more than our fair share this month!
Today I played along at My Creative Sketches with their latest monthly sketch
I chose a picture of my mum and wrote how thankful l am to her for all she has done for me over the last couple of years. My journaling is on a tag under my photo.
The papers are all from Graphic 45 and l fussy cut out the flowers that l clustered and layered on the bottom corners.

Here is my take
This is what l did -
Firstly l used a mask and added paste, once dry l sprayed pink ink over parts.
I randomly added some stamping in a few different places and then painted gesso over the top to soften the brown ink. The little wooden birds are form Prima and l inked the edges to add some definition.
Some close ups

Ooops almost forgot
Here is the layout l did when l applied to the Lets Get Sketchy design team.
I used Prima papers and embellishments from their Divine Collection.
Lots of fussy cutting, layering and masking.
I'm loving the wooden buttons and chipboard pieces from this range.
Pretty, soft, girly colours.
TFL :)

My Creative Sketches
Hi there
Today l am sharing my layout for the current sketch up at MCS.
The photos are of my sisters new baby boy. A new tiny life has entered the world!
My papers and embellishments are from Crate and letter stickers are Simple Stories.
I used a brick mask to add some texture and dimension and made a banner out of chipboard stickers. A border punch was used on the grey paper and the large hearts were cut from another PP. I tucked some doilies under my distressed edges of the background paper.
My distressed heart was an easy embellishment to make. Trace a heart shape, make several folds and sand the folds. I also sanded the edges to reduce the impact of the colour. Easy peasy!!
Here are a couple of close ups
The beautiful angel is from Prima
This is the sketch
Thanks for looking and enjoy your day where ever you may be :)

June week 2 at Lets Get Sketchy
Yeh it's my first week on the LGS design team and l'm excited to be with this very friendly group of girls.
The sketch this week had multiple photos and this is a great one for those of us who take too many pics of the one occasion. I used photos taken at the Aria Awards in Sydney. Alana won a competition on the radio and they flew us down, we walked the red caret, met some singing stars and stayed over night.
For once l didn't do any masking!!
I distressed the edges of my background papers, machine stitched all around and used a border punch in a couple of places. The small dots are liquid pearls, the banner stickers l placed under some lace and added flowers and a pin from Prima
The papers are from Basic Grey.
Here is the sketch
Come on over to the LGS blog and join in the fun!

A Card Today
I found a new site called Colourful Creations and thought l would give a couple of their challenges a go.
I made this card using the word "happiness" which was the criteria for Say it with Words

The papers and stickers are from American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection.
I embossed my background paper and wrapped ribbon around one edge. Then l layered up another paper, fussy cut some flowers and layered a couple of stickers over the top. The flowers are Prima
I also did this layout for another of their challenges, the E Challenge was to have flourishes and punching on your page.
I used border punches for the 2 strips under my photo, and made 3 photo mats with the same punch. The flourishes were stamped with StazOn onto clear acetate and l simply cut around them and scattered them on the layout.
The scallop circle is from Spellbinders.
The papers are Kaiser and American Crafts, flowers are from Prima
I used a mask, added texture paste and once dry added ink over the top. I finished it all off with some machine sewing.
Here are some close ups
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
