This is my entry for the third part of the Big Sketch contest over at http://mycreativesketches.blogspot.com/ . It was a bit of a rush to get this layout done, with going away and christmas happening almost at the the same time.
It's not as fussy as l would normally do, but l like to mix it about sometimes. Also adds some variety in my albums.

What a great holiday
I'm back and we all had just the best time.
Las Vegas was amazing and so much bigger than when l was last there. The size of the casinos are so huge and compared to what we have here, make ours look so small. Shopping was FANTASTIC, designer labels, perfumes, cosmetics and shoes all way cheaper than we pay here. Outlets and strip shopping were both great.Tom is totally addicted to buying all the 'labels' and couldn't believe the savings he got. Saw a show here one night as well
It was cold, cold, cold, around 3 - 5C
Then we went over to Florida and stayed at Disney World - visited Magic Kindom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Also went down to Kennedy Space Centre, where we got up close to the Endeavour that went to the moon. Amazing stuff. So much to see at these places. Back into wearing shorts and t-shirts.
Off to New York. I hadn't been here before and it was looking forward to seeing this city. So busy with people and cars everywhere. I felt safe on the streets ( wasn't sure l would feel this before l got there)
Did the touristy things - boat trip on the Hudson River, saw the city skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, New Jersey, Brooklyn, Ground Zero was a stop off and well worth the visit.
Up to the top of the Empire State, freeezing.
Times Square is awesome with all the massive billboards and bright lights.
Getting a taxi is an experience and hard to get at night. There are like a zillion of them but they always seem to be occupied.
Weather was cold but l think Vegas was colder.
Shopping was once again fantastic and we had to buy a couple of extra bags to bring eveything back
I loved New York and wish we had spent longer there.
Some pictures to share

Time to pack
I've been too busy lately to do any scrapping, something most unusual for me.
This Friday l am going away with my kids and my mum to the USA.
I haven't been there for twenty something years and l can't wait.
l will be taking plenty of pictures to scrap when l get back home.
Yipee!!

I thought l would give this sketch a go over at http://sketchythursdays.blogspot.com/
Here is my version. I turned the sketch on the side.
I'm scrapping some of those hundreds of pictures taken from Tom's school formal, so expect to see layouts with them for some time.
On this double layout l made some sheer ribbon flowers just by gathering up a length of ribbon and sewing a button on to hold them together. Here are some close ups
I'm enjoying a day off work, hope you have a good day as well!
Thanks for looking.

November Already???
This is my take on the November Big Sketch competition over at mycreativesketches.blogspot.com/ I turned the sketch on its side
I have painted the bird cage and added glossy accents, crackled the butterfly and more glossy accents. I used Stickles on the chipboard swirl and heart, as well as some cutouts from Spellbinders through my Big Shot. I stamped out a couple of clocks and cut the doilies from some of the backing of Prima flowers.I added a few dabs of paint to the top to add that litle extra something to the background. Papers are from Basic Grey.

All The Boys
Tom and his mates before his formal, all looking so grown up yet still at school.
Used Bo Bunny papers that l love, did some stamping, distressing, inking and pulled out my eyelets to do the lacing with string.
Have a great day!

Time Flies
Tom had his year 12 formal a week ago and there were literally hundreds of photos taken, so the choice to scrap from is excellent.
I have been busy scrapping with kits from mycreativescrapbook.com. October's kit has put me out of my comfort zone, using colours that l would not normally choose, but l think l am happy with my layout of Alana when she was still so small.
Here are some other new LO'S as well
And here is one of my favourite pics taken before Tom's formal
Tom and Stevie made a gorgeous couple!!
Finally my layout using the October main kit

R.I.P. Benni
Alana has 2 pet guinea pigs, Benni and Buddy, for over 4 years now. Unfortunately Benni has not been too good lately and sadly he passed away Monday. Alana was brave and buried him in the back garden. He was very cute.
